Sadhana S6 Ep18
This week we look at Hinduism’s contribution in Africa through the eyes of the Divine Life Society and Dr Raj Govender shares some interesting similarities between Zulu and Indian traditions. But first we meet the very talented Maithili Shome who is breaking barriers on the musical front.
Sadhana- The Inward Path is a Hindu Magazine programme that explores Hindu culture in all its splendour and vibrance. This week on Sadhana - The Inward Path we celebrate Africa Month with a feature on Maithili Shome, an Indian born singer now living in SA. She is exploring a new genre of music fusing traditional Indian music with African Gospel and Western sounds. We also meet Dr Raj Govender from the KZN department of Arts and Culture who shares some interesting similarities between Indian and African traditions. We look at the work of Divine Life Society in Africa and their massive outreach into some of South Africa's poorest communities.
